Pingi's story

Like all the best fairy tales, our doggy story began much in the same manner. It was as follows:

Once upon a time, many years ago, when the world really wasn't no longer black and white, but we still did not have an Internet, was Carmen browsing an Italian magazine that she got in her hands and found in it an article about small companion dogs. In the middle of the article was a very small picture of two dogs seated, one very nice adult cream-colored (if I remember correctly) in heavy coat, and the cute black and white puppy. Beneath it was written "Tibetan Terrier". The first time we heard of this breed. We cut out the picture and it could easily happen that it is still stored in one of our doggy books and I cuold even find it with some effort. What followed was expected: " Oh, how cute they are " and then a shock: "Such a dog I would like to have ...". Since then, I believe in love at first sight.

All my life I wanted a dog. Even as young boy I begged my parents for a dog, but there was no proper response, and no conditions and time and proper place .... And now, suddenly, a creative atmosphere that shouldn't be wasted. Because it was obvously time for action and there was no room for hesitation and no time to comment to much. In a few days I got the addresses. The first of Slovene breeders from the list I called only Mira. At such occasions, I become more and more apparent that in our lives we always meet the right people at the right moments. When it is needed these people in one way or another somehow enter into our lives. Me and Carmen visited Mira very soon and met her first tibetan lady Betty. A decision has been made - we'll order the dog at Mira. Of course, then we were far from the first place in line to choose a dog, but we haven't worried much about it. Litter was planned and there should be a dog for us too. Months went by, but a farrowing was still not on sight. And then with an enormous delay - finally! Well, if we have waited for so long let's wait for the litter a little more… But it was in vain. Pups were not out of nowhere. Poor Betty had a false pregnancy and had already suffered so badly, and along with her, all of us. Together we made a plan that we'll just wait and try again. At that time, Mira brought from England a new puppy bitch. Meggan which me and Carmen met when she was four months and no one even dreamed that at neckbreaking Betty's delays she will be a mother of our dog. In the months of waiting, the queue had shrunk, those who were in front of us gave up and maybe bought dogs elsewhere, perhaps even other breeds, but we insisted and waited for the right of first choice. We did not care, just to be a boy for us, and if he would still be a blond like daddy Titi, it would a dream come true. But we got it, the only male in the litter. Of course it was not a blonde, but he had as many as five beautiful sisters.

Even today together with Mira we believe that such a wonderful dog was a reward and thank of fate for more than two years of patient and faithfull waiting for a dog. Our Pingi was in all aspects a unique puppy. I know, I know, I know... now you'll say that for every dog owner his dog is the best and most beautiful, which is also true, but ... he was our.... He learned doggy room cleanliness in a few days to train, he was attentive, playful, never any damage in the apartment, behaviour exam he passed without attending the course, made with honors, at dog shows always professional to the end. I never knew how to explain how Pingi became a completely different dog, as soon as he felt the exhibition leash on his neck. Like he knew when it's for real and when it is necessary to show what you're made of...

One of the famous ten dog's intercessions talks about the trust. I always had the feeling that we were able to develop a mutual trust to very limits. With me he never feared or resisted when we found ourselves in a veterinary waiting room, he quietly endured even more odious tasks and interventions. I could trust Pingi without fear when we went to walk around the city freely, and I only carried the leash in my hand and he had boundless trust in me. At the command he always stopped at the edge of the pavement at the pedestrian crossing and moved only when he heard a "let's go." I can not forget how wonderful he accepted the arrival of our children. Suddenly the attention that was until then reserved for him, shifted elsewhere. It looked like he wanted to take over a part of the liabilities. He accustomed himself soon to sleep in the baby's room, between the beds and the babies were particularly quiet and safe sleeping with such a dog.

Years have passed us. Growing and live with a dog was for our children some of the most taken for granted. Pingi embellished and enriched a life to all of us and to our children their childhood. We never wanted nor have a time to think that once will come a moment when, despite robust health and our care for him, we will have to face the inevitably upcoming parting. Time had cruely drew attention to it. When the right moment came, our Pingi clearly shown to us that the time has come and we thanked him in grief for the beautiful more than sixteen and a half years spent together.

After his passing away we felt even greater void than we were expecting. Thankfully, summer holidays were coming, when a lot of things are going on, but we missed something. Nobody dared to think out loud until after the arrival home from the sea our Thomas suddenly suggested, "What if we would find a new dog, however, everything is so empty ... " There was no need for too much persuading. Collectively we found out that is the most likely true that the gap caused by the dog's passing away can only fill a new furry soul. And the search for a suitable Tibetan litter began, which ended at Hren's family and with the arrival of Lia in our home.

With Lia has our life got a whole new dimension and dynamics. Lia is living proof that a women can change someone's life from its foundations. However, if this woman has yet cute hanging two black ears and a hairy chest, the matter is even more extensive. Well, that 's a completely new story that has just begun to write and should remain so for some other occasion...
